As we get fully into spring, month 5's block is a refreshing LeMoyne Star in pretty pastels.

There are several theories about the origin of this star, and my two favorite might feed into each other. The first theory speculates that Jean-Louis LeMoyne designed the star as tiles for Versaille in the 1700s. The thoery that flows from that is the star is in the coat of arms of Jean-Louis' cousins, Pierre and Jean Baptiste, men who are credited with founding New Orleans. (Usual caveats of "history is written by the victor" and colonialism apply.) Either way, it's neat to think about the royal connection to this star.

If you want to make a Star Rise of you're own, you can still join us! You'll get immediate access to all the planning documents and every pattern released so far. We also get together on Zoom once a month to share our wins and do a Q&A session. We’d love to see you there.
