After three months of labor, I'm so excited to announce the launch of the Holland quilt pattern.

Inspiration
I first sketched the idea for Holland back in June. I wish I could say there's a story here, but I was mainly just teaching myself how to use my graphic design software more easily. After figuring out how to make a flying geese unit in the program, I decided to copy and drag the shapes and ended up with a design to master the four-at-a-time flying geese technique in real life. Then I worked on writing instructions and headed to the cutting table to test it all out. And boy, did I become a flying geese expert!
The Holland quilt pattern is a skill-builder that's perfect for beginners and for more experienced quilters aiming to refine a technique. If you make the throw size, you'll end up with 200 flying geese units. I think that qualifies for official expert status.
As part of launching the Holland quilt pattern, I'll share versions from my talented pattern testers, my top tips for mastering this technique, and a few surprises along the way.
Sir William Saves the Day
I tell people that I am the only "employee" at For the Love of Thread, but that's a lie. I did a photo shoot of the Holland quilt to have something nice to add to the file, and Sir William thought it was for him. We would be nothing without our quilting cats!
I'm excited to hear your thoughts on the pattern. If you choose to purchase it, thank you! Your support truly means a lot to me.
