The School Spirit quilt pattern creates a bold geometric quilt made from classic triangle blocks and finishes at 60” x 90”, the perfect size for a dorm room mattress.

Designed for confident beginners, this quilt pattern uses two of the most versatile quilt blocks: half-square triangles and quarter-square triangles. The half-square triangles are made two at a time, and the quarter-square triangles are built directly from those units, making the blocks quick and satisfying to sew.

Once your blocks are complete, you get to decide the layout. Arrange them however you like to create a quilt that’s completely unique, or follow the layout guide to recreate the cover quilt.

The pattern also includes a coloring page so you can audition layout ideas before sewing.

The cover quilt is shown in maroon, white, and yellow, a combination inspired by my niece’s high school and college colors—but the design works beautifully in any three-color combination, making it perfect for school colors.
