Quilting plays a huge role in my life. Through good times and bad, baby quilts and memorial quilts, in peace and in stress, quilting is what centers me and feeds my soul. I think if you give it a try, it will feed your soul too.

But it wasn't always this way...
I didn’t start as a confident quilter.
I started with the ugliest calico fabrics you’ve ever seen and a cardboard cutting mat. After shredding both beyond recognition, I packed it away because I had no idea what to do next.
A few years later, a generous quilter offered to come over and show me “the next step.” She took one look at my fabric and questioned her decision, but she stayed.
She taught me the fundamentals: the quarter-inch seam, proper pressing, assembling blocks, basting, quilting, binding. Then she helped me start a new quilt the right way.
That second quilt was better in every way.
The difference wasn’t talent. It was guidance.
